OUR MISSION

The mission of the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce is to promote and strengthen the business community through goals and programs that encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and foster a positive image of Maplewood.

 

A Chamber has been defined as “People working together to make their community a better place to live and make a living.” It is truly an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all the citizens of the area.

The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce was formed to meet the needs of the community. It is a voluntary organization of individuals and businesses that have joined together to advance the commercial, economic, industrial and civic interests of Maplewood.

Chamber membership is open to any firm or individual sharing a common interest in the well-being of the Maplewood community.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Monthly Breakfast/Luncheon General Meetings.

 

Annual Business Card Exchange whose specific purpose is to provide members with an opportunity to promote their business to their fellow members and provide access to business opportunities with each other.

Member Open House: these informal, social cocktail parties are held once a month on site at a member location. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your business, introduce your employees to Chamber members and get to know other chamber members in an informal setting.

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS

Featured presentations at past general meetings included topics such as Marketing, Public Relations, Insurance, Finances, Business Planning and Human Resources.

ONLINE EXPOSURE

As a member, your business will be listed in our Chamber’s website directory. You may provide a link to your company’s website for additional exposure. The directory and has been recently updated to be more interactive and reflective of our goals.

 

HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Your opinion matters. As a Chamber member, you will have the opportunity to stand up and be recognized. Your opinion on local business matters can have a dramatic impact on our business environment and the community at large.

 

MULTI CHAMBER NETWORKING EVENTS

The Maplewood Chamber collaborates with five local Chambers to present large scale networking events several times a year. As a Chamber member you have the opportunity to meet and do business with members from West Orange, Millburn/Short Hills, North Essex, Livingston, South Orange. These events attract several hundred local business people.

PROGRAMS & EVENTS

PROGRAMS

Board Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from September through June at the Maplewood Municipal Building, at 8 am.

General Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month from September through June. These alternate between breakfast meetings and luncheons. Breakfasts are held at St. James’s Gate, 8:00 am and luncheons at 12:30 pm at member locations. Meetings are designed to provide networking opportunities as well as presentations on topics of interest relevant to the business community.

Featured presentations at past general meetings included topics such as Marketing, Social Media, Public Relations, Insurance, Finances, Business Planning and Human Resources.

EVENTS

The Chamber’s Business Card Exchange is held in late February in place of the General Meeting. The Business Card Exchange provides members with an opportunity to promote their business to their fellow members and encourages members to do business with each other. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Distinguished Service Award Dinner is scheduled for October and honors the business person of the year in Maplewood. The Dinner is held at the Maplewood Country Club. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Read more HERE.

The Chamber also hosts Business Socials several times a year. This is a wonderful, informal networking event held at a member restaurant/location.
